Retha Jackson O'Neal, 75, of Violet Hill, Ark., daughter of the late J. M. and Arie Wallace Jackson, was born Jan. 14, 1927, in Myron, Ark., and departed this life on Aug. 26, 2002. She was married to Marion O'Neal on Dec. 24, 1945, in Melbourne, and to this union two children were born. During her working years, she was a homemaker, wife, mother and also helped on the family farm. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.Survivors are two daughters and one son-in-law, Regina O'Neal of Vancleave, Miss., and Janet and Bill Davis of Jacksonville, Ark.; three brothers, Lehman Jackson of Frank-lin, Doris Wayne Jackson of Kansas City, Mo., and Bartus Jackson of Goldsboro, N.C.; one granddaughter, Ashley Kennedy and husband, Keith; and other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Paulean Hill; and one brother, Marvin Jackson.Services were Aug. 28, 2002, at the Fairview Baptist Church with Randy Scaggs officiating. Burial was in the Violet Hill Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne.Pallbearers included Bill Shaver, Glen Billingsley, Kennard Billingsley, Don Glasser, Rusty Shaver, and Brad Wiseman.Honorary pallbearers were the Ladies Sunday School Class at Fairview Baptist Church.
