Betty Lou Arwood, 72, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Aug. 27, 2002, at her home. She was born Nov. 5, 1929 in Memphis, Tenn., daughter of the late Clarice (Pearrow) Lamb and Dewey Shelton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Holmes Road Church of Christ in Memphis.Survivors are her husband, Donald C. "Ducky" Arwood of Cherokee Village; one son, Richard B. "Dickie" Arwood of Collierville, Tenn.; one daughter, Penny McKinney-Smith of Memphis; two brothers, Dewey Lee Shelton of Proctor, Miss., and Jimmy Shelton of Nesbit, Miss.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Services were Aug. 31 2002, at the Forest Hill South Funeral Home in Memphis, with local arrangements by Heath Oak Hill Chapel of Hardy, Ark. Burial was in the Forest Hill South Cemetery in Memphis.Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
