Born 5-26-1932 -- Died 3-1-2005

C.D. Martin, 72, son of the late Charlie and Kitty Wright Martin, was born May 26, 1932, in Portia, Ark. He died March 1, 2005, at his home in Gepp, Ark.

He married Pauline Elizabeth Guynes Aug. 2, 1950, at Hoxie, Ark., and to this union two sons were born.

He was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa. His hugs will be missed by many. C.D. was an auto body technician for over 40 years and loved camping, farming, and the lake.

He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War, and was a member of Oak Valley Baptist Church at Elizabeth, Ark.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Martin of Gepp, Ark.; two sons -- Charles Dewain Martin and wife, Yvonne, of St. Charles, Mo.; and Carl Douglas Martin and wife, Letha of Elizabeth, Ark.; a brother, Rex Clay Martin of Mountain Home, Ark.; four grandchildren -- Angie Ludwig, Brandon, Crystal and Carmen Martin; and two great-grandchildren -- Lucas and Michael Ludwig.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Inez Cavesina.

The funeral was March 3 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Charles Hilton officiating. Interment was in Custer-Herron Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem.

Pallbearers were Junior Hickman, Brandon Martin, Hank Klein, Fred Powers, Pete Cavesina and Ronnie Romine.

Honorary pallbearers were Preston Dunn, Bill Holcomb, and Eldon Scott.
