Frances Irene Carter, age 89, of Thayer, formerly of Imboden, passed way, Sept. 19, 2004, at Baxter Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born Jan. 7, 1915, at Conway, Mo., the daughter of Homer and Mary Magdalen Ikerd. Mrs. Carter was a homemaker, loving wife and mother, and a member of the Imboden Baptist Church.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Carter Aug. 15, 1937.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, Raymond Carter of the home; three sons -- Edward Carter and wife, Karen, of Marion, Mich., Wayne Carter and wife, Kathy, of Battle Creek, Mich., and Robert Carter and wife, Janet, of Rowlett, Texas; a brother, Jack Ikerd of Bolivar, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by three sisters -- Marie, Alice and Lucy, and two brothers, Henry and J.D. Ikerd.
The funeral service was Sept. 22, at the Imboden Baptist Church with Bro. Tony Clem officiating. Interment as in the Hope Cemetery at Imboden, Ark.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Bryan Funeral Home of Imboden of Hoxie, Ark.
Pallbearers were Gene Colinger, Jimmy Hipp, Bob Smith, Rich Morgan, David Elgen and Arthur Spearritt.
