Junior Alvin Hollis, 78, of Lawson, Mo., died March 31, 2004, at the North Kansas City Hospital. He was born March 1, 1926, in Thayer, Mo., the son of Alvin Matthew and Aimelia Honeycutt Hollis.
He was united in marriage to Naomi Blackburn May 17, 1050 at Salem, Ark. He had lived in the Liberty area for several years before moving to the Lawson area. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Hollis of the home; a son, Roy Hollis and his wife, Sandra of Lape, Mich.; two daughters -- Diane Mellon and husband, Ronnie, of Lawson and daughter, Shari Gulley and husband, Rick, of Lawson; two brothers -- Waymon Hollis and wife, Raymonda of Lawson and Royce Hollis and wife, Nora of Thayer; six grandchildren -- Brandon
The funeral service was April 3 at the Polley Funeral Home Lawson Chapel in Lawson, Mo. Burial was in the Lawson Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Polley Funeral Home.
