Julia Kathryn Taylor, daughter of the late Horace Phelps and Lela Morgan Phelps, was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Hardy, Ark., and died April 5, 2004, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., at the age of 75 years. She was married July 4, 1946, in Hardy to Jack Charles Taylor.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and was a member of Mammoth Spring First Baptist Church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include two sons -- Terry Wayne Taylor of Mammoth Spring and Charles Michael Taylor and wife, Donna, of Thayer, Mo.; two grandsons -- Clinton Matthew Taylor of Salem, Ark. and Michael Jacob Taylor of Salem; two step-grandchildren -- Robert E. Johnson of Springfield Mo., and Kali Megan Johnson of Thayer; two brothers -- Lloyd Phelps of Maize, Kan., and Lonnie Phelts of Hardy; and a sister, Jean Bevil of Maumelle, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband a grandson, Terry Wayne Taylor Jr., and two brothers -- Archie and Doyle Phelps.
The funeral was April 8 at Spring River Bapist Church in Fulton County with Bruce Stone and Floyd Rikard officiating. Burial was in the Bronaugh Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Nolen Reese, Gary Herrum, Adam Phelps, David Phelps, Ronnie York, Andy Phelps, Jason Sinclair. alternates -- David Phelps and Adam Brown.
