Kenneth Albert Parson, 73, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Nov. 13, 2004, in Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
Born at home March 31, 1931, in Clarksville, Iowa, he was the son of Leslie and Eldora Mahake Parson.
On Dec. 1, 1956, Kenneth married Cora Schalts in Waterloo, Iowa.
He served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church.
He was employed by the John Deere Corporation in Waterloo as an assemblyman until becoming disabled in 1971. In 1973 they moved from Waterloo, Iowa to Cherokee Village.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Parson, son, Kenny and Pam Parson, daughter, Catherine Watts, of Cherokee Village; sister, Jo Ann Lampe of New Hampton, Iowa; grandchildren -- Krystal and Bianca Sawyer, K.C. Carson, Preston Parson and Adam Redd of Cherokee Village; two nieces of New Hampton and Wyona, Iowa; and a nephew, of Waucoma, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Bertha Parson; and a stepfather, Robert Mason; brothers -- John and Vernon Parson; and a sister, Lorraine Parson.
The funeral was Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Highland.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland, Ark.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
