Food Pantry sets holiday goal of 500 cans

Tuesday, November 23, 2004

MAMMOTH SPRING -- Simmons First National Bank of Mammoth Spring has announced it is a collection point for the Oregon County Food Pantry. Anyone can stop by the bank located on Main Street and donate any type of canned food item. Bank employees will move all the donated items to the food pantry weekly.

"We have set a goal of 500 cans. If we can reach our goal, the bank will donate another 100 cans of food," bank employee Jennifer Crowe said.

Crowe said the canned goods will go directly into the community to help friends and neighbors during the holidays.

"The Oregon County Food Pantry will assist the residents of Mammoth Spring just like it will the residents of Oregon County," Crowe said.

For more information concerning the food pantry, one can call the Oregon County Health Department Monday through Friday at 417-778-7450 or call Crowe at the bank at 870-625-3235.
