The Rev. Johnny Smith, 71, of Cherokee Village died Oct. 22, 2004, at his home.
Born March 17, 1933, in Hollow Rock, Tenn., he was the son of Jerry and Hazel Crews Smith. He was a retired minsiter, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of First Baptist Church of Hardy.
The Rev. Smith was a former pastor at Woodland Corner Baptist Church and pastored several church in Mississippi County, Sharp County and Harrisburg, Ark. He was devoted to his ministry, his family and his wife of 52 years, Lois Baker Smith.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his children -- Debby and Billy Bratton of Phoenix, and Lloyd and Laquita Smith of Jonesboro; his brother, Lewis Harvey Smith of The Village, Fla.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Smith; and a half-brother, Gerald Summers.
The funeral was Oct. 26 in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville. The Rev. Larry Kindrick, the Rev. W.G. Warren and the Rev. George Nichols officiated the ceremony.
Burial followed in Dogwood Cemetery.
