Veola Shaver Henderson, 80, of Sulphur Rock, Ark., died on April 25, 2008, at a Batesville hospital. She was born Aug. 24, 1926, at Mount Pleasant, Ark., the daughter of the late Oather and Minie (Henderson) Shaver.
She was a homemaker and attended the Jesus is the Way Church at Magness.
Survivors include: her husband of 59 years, Charles Henderson of the home; three daughters, Teresa Gayle Henderson of Sulphur Rock, Debra Susan Wright of Batesville and Tammy Lynn Long of Salado; two sisters, Bernicece Engles of Guion and Linda Moser of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren, Misty and Michelle Wilson and Sheri Lynn Jennings both of Batesville, Frances "Frankie" Charles Long, Teri Michelle Long and Susan Gayle Long all of Salado; two great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; one brother, John Shaver ; and a grandson, Tony Charles Wright.
Funeral services were held on April 28 at the Jesus is the Way Church in Magness with Bro. Gaylon England officiating.
Burial followed in the Sulphur Rock Cemetery located at Sulphur Rock with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
Pallbearers were Murl B. Wright, Terry Long, Chad Emperson, Michael Henderson and Mitchell Henderson and Hurshel Dewayne Cunningham Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Frankie Long and Lane Jennings.
