Betty Jo Pickens of Cherokee Village died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in her home.
She was born June 5, 1933, in Birmingham, Ala., to Henry Wilson and Dosia Marie Pickens.
She received a bachelor's degree in business education from Arkansas Tech University and a master's degree in education from Arkansas State University.
Betty taught business classes in Charleston, Stuttgart, Jonesboro, and North Little Rock before retiring in 1985.
Betty was a dedicated member of the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church where she was active in the Priscilla Circle, previously served as chair of the finance committee and the annual bazaar and was the active treasurer of the church at the time of her death.
She is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Don Floyd of Cherokee Village; daughters, Donna Floyd and Marty Floyd and her husband Bill Goff of Little Rock; granddaughters, Ally Gimon and Lindsey Moore both of Little Rock.
A memorial service was held at the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church, on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 11 a.m.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Heath Funeral Home of Highland, Ark.
