Michael Joe Harvell, 52, of Melbourne, formally of Memphis, Tenn., died April 20, 2007, at his home in Melbourne. He was born Feb. 9, 1955, the son of Owen Wayne and Robbie Jean Miller Harvell in Clinton, Ill.
He had season tickets to the Memphis Red Birds Baseball games and his interests included cars, cooking and collecting music. He was a devoted Arkansas Razorback fan and a member of Melbourne First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his parents, Wayne and Phyllis Harvell of Melbourne and Jean Harvell of Melbourne; one brother, Tim Harvell of Melbourne; one stepbrother, Jonathan ?Harvey and his wife, Amanda of Little Rock; two sisters, Robin Cross and her husband Chuck of High Point, N.C., and Jennifer Kelch of Maumelle, Ark.; one stepsister, Michelle Cunningham and her husband Shane of Melbourne; eight nieces and nephews Kristi and Alex Kelch of Maumelle, Ginny and Jordan Cross of High Point, N.C., Felicia and Owen Harvell of Melbourne and Kai and Tyler Cunningham of Melbourne; several aunts and uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Owen and Sibyl Harvell; and maternal grandparents, Bob and Nobia Miller.
Funeral services were held April 23 at the Melbourne First Baptist Church with Bro. Ricky Burke and Bro. Wayne Wilson officiating. Interment followed at the Melbourne Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Bill Mann, Jeff DeZort, Gene Miller, Rick Miller, Robert Hayden and Carl Hayden.
