Harry Earle Berry, 94, son of the late Harry E. Berry and Clara Chil-cote Berry was born May 28, 1907 in Fryatt, Ark., and died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001 in Thayer, Mo. He was married June 10, 1934 in Mammoth Spring, to Izora Kerby. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II in Belgium, England, France, and Germany, and received the Bronze Star while serving in the Normandy Campaign. He was a truck driver and an employee of Berry Manufacturing Cane Company; and was a member of the Church of Christ.Survivors include his wife, Izora of Mammoth Spring; one daughter, Joan Simers and husband, Bob of Mammoth Spring; two grandsons, Rob Simers, and Steve Simers and wife, Rae Lynn of Mammoth Spring; four great-grandchildren, Earle Simers of Springfield, Mo., Timothy Simers, Brittany Simers and Jacob Simers all of Mammoth Spring.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Fred and Marvin Ed Berry; one foster brother, Aubrey Chilcote; and a foster sister, Gladys Copson.Services were Friday, Nov. 16, 2001 at 23 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, with Ted Clarke officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery at Mammoth Spring, with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. of Thayer, Mo.Pallbearers were Harold Jackson, Monty Goetting, Bill Pace, Bill Wooldridge, Loyd Young, and Steve Atkins.
