Cadet earns awards, honors

Mexico, Mo. -- Cadet Chafen DeLao, son of Jamie DeLao of Salem, recently received the Parade Ribbon at the Missouri Military Academy for participating in the parade for the University of Missouri Football Game. In addition, DeLao was awarded the Academic Fourragere for superior scholastic achievement, received honors for his academic and military grades, earned the Maroon Bar for a perfect disciplinary record, and was awarded the Soldier's Bar for outstanding military courtesy, neatness, bearing, attitude and performance of duty.At MMA, young men in grades 4 through 12 participate in a college-preparatory, structured curriculum that consistently sends 90 percent of graduates on to colleges and universities in the U.S. and around the world. The U.S. Department of Education has designated the Academy as an Exemplary Private School. Last year Missouri Military Academy was again designated by the U.S. Army as a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Honor Unit With Distinction.
