Madge Lois Woodyard, 93, of Cave City, Ark., died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001 at Woodlawn Nursing Home in Batesville, Ark. She was born Feb. 14, 1908 in Cave City to William Edgar and Nancy Ellen Phillips Woodyard. She attended St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Granite City, Ill. where she received her registered nursing degree in 1938. In 1941 she attended a Boston hospital and received a diploma and pin for post graduate work in obstretics. She worked at Gray's Hospital and Craigs Hospital in Batesville and retired from North Arkansas Medical Clinic in Batesville. She was very devoted to her profession and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cave City.Survivors include one nephew, William Eugene and wife, Nadine Woodyard of Batesville; a great niece Deanna Gail Woodyard Harris of Batesville; and a great-nephew, John William Woodyard of Dallas, Texas, and a host of other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers,. Neal Cyrus Woodyard, Eugene Gray Woodyard and Phillip Earl Woodyard.Graveside services were Monday, Nov. 26, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Cave City Cemetery with Rev. Paul Strang officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City, Ark.
