Two women were injured in a two-car wreck on Highway 167 in Ash Flat Aug. 20.
Andrea M. Stone, 42, of Mammoth Spring was traveling south on Highway 167 in Ash Flat in her 2003 Ford Taurus around 1:30 p.m. when she stopped in the road to turn left into the parking lot of First National Banking Company, said Ash Flat Officer Tamara Roberts. While Stone was stopped, a southbound 2000 Chrysler Concord struck the rear of her car, Roberts said. The Chrysler then struck a mailbox and came to rest on the west side of the road, Roberts said.
The Chrysler was registered to Clara E. Lage of Horseshoe Bend, but was driven by Kimberly M. Augsburger, 30, of the same address, Roberts said. Augsburger had two 2-year-old children in the backseat. She told Roberts she was not watching the road, Roberts said.
Stone and Augsburger were both transported to Fulton County Hospital in Salem by Spring River Paramedic Ambulance Service.
The children were not injured in the wreck. No citations were issued.
