Wilburn "Slim" Warren, Sr. 67, of Ash Flat, was born June 27, 1935, in West Ridge, Ark. He died July 29, 2002, at his home. He lived in the Jones-boro area most of his life. He moved to Ash Flat in 1996. He was the owner and operator of A-1 Auto Salvage on Highway 351 in Jonesboro. He was a member of the Ward Street Church of Christ in Hardy.Survivors include his wife, Jean Warren of the home; eight sons, Wilburn Roy Warren Jr. and W. L. Warren both of Paragould, Jessie James Warren of Jonesboro, Winford Elliott Warren of Hartford, Mich., Ralph Curtis Warren, Nathan Ray Warren, and Raymond Ladell Warren of Paragould, and John Westley Warren of Hardy; seven daughters, Robin Sue Simons of Jonesboro, Opal Jeanette Airs-man of Hornersville, Mo., Sheila Simmons of Paragould, Phyllis Dawn Warren of Jonesboro, Tracy Ann Goss of Paragould, Pearl Angel Warren of Hardy, and Betty Lou Warren of Tampa, Fla.; two step-sons, Steven Edward Sterling of Aurora, Ill. and Karl Allen Karlsson of Ash Flat; two stepdaughters, Lois Jena Anderson of Millington, Ill., and Marsha Karol Perkins of Carthage, Miss.; three brothers, Winford Warren, William Warren, and Joe David Warren all of Jonesboro; 32 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter; one granddaughter; one great-grandson, his parents; one sister, and one brother.Graveside services were Aug. 1, 2002, at the Pine Log Cemetery with Robert Hewitt and Tom O'Neal officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.Pallbearers were Jessie Warren, Jeramie Yancey, Karl Karlsson, W. L. Warren, Winford Warren, and Chris Warren.Honorary pallbearer was Wilburn Roy Warren, Jr.
