A Mammoth Spring man has been charged with 20 counts of class Y felony rape after he allegedly sexually assaulted an underage female multiple times.
Special agent Jeff Stone of the Arkansas State Police said Michael Seibert, 35, engaged in deviant sexual activity with a 12-year-old girl from October 2004 through August 2005.
Stone said the incidents occurred inside Seibert's home. He said the female told investigators Seibert assaulted her 20 or more times over the course of her summer vacation.
Investigator Jeannette Cooper with the Crimes Against Children Division of the Arkansas State Police said Seibert admitted to assaulting the girl during an interview at the Fulton County Sheriff's Department.
According to the arrest affidavit, Seibert said he was unsure how long the abuse had been taking place, but told investigators "the girl would know."
Fulton County Chief deputy Paul Martin said Seibert turned himself in at the Fulton County Sheriff's Department before a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Martin said he is unaware of any previous criminal charges against Seibert.
Seibert is being held in the Fulton County jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond. He is slated to appear in Fulton County Circuit Court Sept. 26.
If convicted, Seibert could face up to life in prison on each count.
