Privilege Cards offer benefits for golfers, support good cause

Thursday, August 14, 2003

The American Lung Association of Arkansas' Golf Privilege Card offers golfers over a $1,000 in savings and comes at a price of only $30. The card is not only a great value, but it helps fight lung disease in Arkansas.

The Golf Privilege Card is valid at over 100 courses and driving ranges across the state, with some of the finest courses participating in the program.

Locally, Cedar Glade Golf Course in Horseshoe Bend, Cooper's Hawk Golf Club in Melbourne, Turkey Mountain Golf Club in Horseshoe Bend, Twin Lakes Golf Club and Big Creek Golf Course in Mountain Home and the South Course in Cherokee Village participate in the Golf Privilege Card program.

"The golf community in Arkansas has really come through for us on this project," said Laurie Nelson, director of development for the American Lung Association of Arkansas. "Without their support we wouldn't have anywhere near the success we've enjoyed."

Cardholders are entitled to any number of benefits at participating courses. Frequently, golfers make up their entire investment in a couple of rounds of golf.

Revenue from the sales support asthma education and awareness programs.

To purchase a golf card, golfers can contact the American Lung Association of Arkansas at 800-586-4872 ext. 112.
