Lee Roy Engle, 62, of Sidney died Feb. 5, 2005, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born April 16, 1942, at Mountain View, Ark., he was the son of Woodrow and Myrtle Price Engle. He was a construction worker, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, was a member and past Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars post 8042 and a member of Sidney Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Leta Dickerson Engle of the home; three daughters -- Kim Engle of Sidney, Maleta Manuel of Cave City and Karen Walton of Batesville, his mother, Myrtle Engle Broyles of Mountain View; a brother, Douglas Engle of Sidney; two sisters -- Freda Pierson of Cabot, and Beth Brewer of Arkadelphia; six grandchildren -- Desiree Engle of Sidney, Krista Manuel, Bradon Manuel and Devan Manuel, all of Cave City, Ashton Walton and Maggie Walton, both of Batesville; a nephew, David Pierson of Sherwood and three nieces -- Beth Ann Hames of Sidney, Patty Pierson of Cabot, and Delandra Brewer of Arkadelphia.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Lloyd Engle.
The funeral was Feb. 8. at Sidney Baptist Church with Alvin Wiles and Lance Hames officiating. Burial followed in Yeager Cemetery at Needmore with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Dan Dickerson, Rodney Ford, Mike Walls, Ronnie Ford, Travis Dickerson, Chad Martin and James Royal.
Honorary pallbearers were Red Jaggers, Juney Smith, Sonny Cole, Donald Qualls, Lonnie Mitchell and Mike Hamilton.
