Anita Louise Smith of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late Coy and Hazel McClain Malone was born March 24, 1939, in Tulsa, Okla. She died Oct. 4, 2003, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home at the age of 64 years, six months and ten days.
She was united in marriage to C.O. "Tuffy" Smith on May 4, 1957, in Tulsa, Okla. To this union five children were born. During her working years she was employed by Fulton County Abstract as an office clerk. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She was the center of her family. She loved flowers, birds and all pretty things. She had an amazing sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her.
Survivors include her children -- Tami Isom and husband Randy of South Haven, Mich., Pam Parks and husband, Tom of Flippin, Ark., Sonny Smith and wife, Sherry of West Plains, Mo., Zane Smith of Wheeling and Denise Pierce and husband, Jesse of Salem; special friend, Brenda "Smith" Jackson of Salem; one sister, Joy Duncan of Tulsa, Okla.; 15 grandchildren -- Randy Isom Jr., Holly Isom, Chuck and Jeb Parks, Craig, Jered, Dylan and Travis Smith, Jacob, Lindsey and Zachary Smith, Amber Pierce, Benjamin Leisenring and Tiffany and Ethan Pierce; one great-grandchild, Zowy Parks; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Kay Butts, and her father and mother.
Memorial services were Oct. 7 at Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem. Arrangements were by Cox Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
