Lethia Mae Jared, of Castle, Okla., daughter of the late John Allen Stroud and Elizabeth Mooney Stroud, was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Izard County, Ark. She died Sept. 27, 2003 at Creek Nation Memorial Hospital in Okemah, Okla., at the age of 82.
She was united in marriage to Auddist Hollingsworth on Oct. 16, 1938, in Sharp County, Ark. To this union, eight children were born. She later married Carl Jared. She worked as a caregiver for many years and also worked the fruit harvest in California. She was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include her sons -- Calvin Hollinsworth and wife Vernis of Neshoba, Okla., Bobby Hollinsworth and wife, Elizabeth of Okemah, Okla., Billy Hollingsworth and Anna Mae of Okemah and Gregg Hollingsworth and wife, Carol of Farmersville, Calif.; four daughters -- Wanda Conley of Visala, Calif., Louise Dodson and husband, Sam of Castle, Okla., Judy Abbs of Okemah, Okla., and Dorothy Young-blood and husband Orville of Crane, Mo.; two brothers -- Ed and Loyd Stroud of Glencoe; four sisters -- Ethel Hall and Stella Waltrip, both of Salem, Opal Langston of Glencoe and Claudine New-berry of Salem; seven half-brothers and sisters -- Williamet Griffith, Johnny Cooper, Hazel Nickerson, James Cooper, Jean Stevens, Diann Ferrell and Donna Hatman; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; one grandson, Bobby Conley; one sister, Violet Hall; a half-brother, Joe Cooper, a half-sister Novella Garrison and her father and mother.
Services were Oct. 3 at Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem with Van Brown officiating. Burial was in the Agnos Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
