'Scouting for Food' set at Alton

Thursday, October 9, 2003

ALTON -- The Alton Community Food Bank supply is low and needs the support of the community to help the needy, a spokesman said.

The Alton Cub Scout Pack 102 will hold a "Scouting for Food" drive on Oct.18 and Oct. 25. The Cub Scouts will be placing the plastic bags on each door on Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. The Scouts ask that food of choice to donate be placed in the bags and placed on the front porch or driveway for pickup Oct. 25 starting at 10 a.m.

Anyone who would like to donate who do not live in the City of Alton, may drop food by the ORTRACKM Internet office at any time.

Event chairman Barbara Rickert said she hopes the community will respond to the needs of the needy in the Alton community by supporting the Scouting for Food food drive.
