Thayer takes volleyball win from Mountain View Liberty

The Thayer Lady Bobcat volleyball team took a straight set match from the Mountain View Liberty Lady Eagles 25-22 and 25-20 Sept. 25 at Thayer.

The win gives the Lady Cats a 6-4 record, 1-1 in South Central Association play.

Coach Matt Pitts had the Lady Cats in great form in their conference opening win over the Lady Eagles.

Sophomore Brittney Allen had a great defensive game receiving and passing, and she also had several sets and assists.

Classmate Heather Coffel had a serving point, five kills and three-and-a-half blocks, while junior Tiffany Poulette had two serving points, including the game winner.

Junior Valerie Dixon had three points, two aces, two-and-a-half blocks and four kills.

Senior Sarah Caldwell had seven assists, eight points, six aces and a kill, while classmate Summer jones had six points, five aces and three kills.

Senior Kylee McAlmond had four points, one ace, six kills and five blocks.

Missouri high schools are playing by college rules this season with rally scoring to 25 points.
