Esther Pauline Langley, daughter of the late Jesse Everett Rolen and Ora Hollis Rolen, was born April 4, 1916, in Oregon County, Mo., and died Sept. 25, 2003, in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 87. She was united in marriage Sept. 22, 1933, in Thayer, Mo., to Hoy Langley who preceded her in death in Aug. 23, 1987.
She was a homemaker and a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Orahood of Thayer, Mo.; one son, Doyle Langley and wife, Nadine of Koshkonong, Mo.; six grandchildren -- Herbert Orahood and wife, Melodi of Thayer, Susan Raynor and husband, Eric of Benson, N.C., Greg Langley and wife, Suzanne of Thayer, Mo., Rodney Langley and wife Leah of Thayer, Larry Roberts and wife, Penney of Booneville, Mo., and Lisa Wilson and husband, Michael of Napton, Mo.; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters -- Thelma Hoyt of Thayer, Virginia Moberly of Jefferson City, Mo., and Melba Geiger of Holcomb, Miss; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son-in-law, Paul Orahood; three brothers, Herschel, Wayne and Charles Rolen.
Services were Sept. 28 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Dr. Bill Banks officiating. Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Herbert Orahood, Eric Raynor, Calvin Bowers, Greg Langley, Norman Langley and Jack Moberly.
