ALTON -- A felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon and a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault have been filed against an Alton man.
According to the Oregon County Sheriff's Office, Alvie W. Hastings, 30, of Alton fired a .22 caliber magnum rifle in the direction of his sister-in-law, Tamesha Huddleston June 15.
Hastings was also charged with a probation violation. He is being held in the Oregon County jail at Alton with a bond of $2,500 set on the weapons and assault charges and no bond set on the probation violation.
In other Oregon County Sheriff's Department news, three Illinois men were arrested June 15 on alcohol and drug charges, according to sheriff's department reports.
Terry Alwardt, 41, and Jeremy R. Parker, 21, were charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Each posted $1,000 bail and are scheduled to appear in court Aug. 20.
Robert W. Juds, 20, of Kinmundy, Ill., was charged with minor in possession of alcohol. He posted $500 bail. His court date has also been set for Aug. 20.
