Vivian Irene Bryan, daughter of the late R.A. Dale and Addie Williams Dale, was born Jan. 7, 1922, in Bardley, Mo., and died Jan. 5, 2004, in Tucson, Ariz., at the age of 81 years.
She was united in marriage Jan. 17, 1941 in Couch,Mo., to Robert Bryan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring, Ark., where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was involved in many church activities and enjoyed quilting. She was a member of the NARFE.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of Mammoth Spring; one daughter, Kay Rather and husband, Dr. Edwin Rather of Tucson, Ariz.; two granddaughters -- Paige Day and husband, Mark and Ashley Ludwig and husband,Perry; four great-grandchildren -- Cody, Taylor, Mariah and Kellie-Dale; one sister, Hilma "Toots" Hollis of Alton, Mo.; several half-brothers and half-sisters; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers -- Howard, Gene and Bill Dale and one sister, Olive LaFata.
The funeral was Jan. 10, 2004, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo. with The Rev. Bruce Stone and the Rev. James Johnson both officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Mammoth Spring with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer, Mo.
Pallbearers were Bruce Bryan, Dave Robinson, Kenny Tackett, Ron Myers, Jim Russell and Freddie Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were Henry Carroll, Bill Dale, Keith Johnson and Thaine Johnson.
