Esther V. Fisher, 82, of Melbourne, daughter of the late Joseph Hiriam Stokes and Hattie Autumn Spence Stokes, was born March 12, 1921, in Mount Pleasant, Ark.
She died Jan. 7, 2004, in Batesville, Ark. She married Cleo Adam Fisher on May 17, 1946, in Melbourne, Ark., and to this union three children were born. She spent her life as a homemaker, wife and mother. She attended the Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son nd daughter-in-law -- Junior and Irma Fisher of Zion, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law -- Reba and Greg Tate of Melbourne, Ark.; two grandchildren -- Andy Tate and Amanda Tate; a great-grandchild, Destany Cross; four nieces; and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, a brother, Cecil Stokes, and a sister, Retha Moser.
The funeral was Jan. 9 at Reeves Pine Grove Chapel with Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial followed at Reeves Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne, Ark.
Pallbearers were Morris Shaver, Troy Shaver, W.C. Evans, Bobby Smith, Robert Spence and Johnny Bramlett.
Honorary pallbearers were Carl Shaver, Loren Fisher, Elvie Craig and Elvie Lewis.
