Edith Alene Sims was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Bethel, Okla., the daughter of the late Samuel Scott Christian and Cleo Pearl Sizemore Christian, and died Oct. 1, 2007, in West Plains, at the age of 72.
She was united in marriage Nov. 8, 1952, at DeQueen, Ark., to Carl Sims.
Besides being a homemaker, she was employed by Marathon Electric for several years.
Edith will be remembered for the love she had for her family and her many friends, that made her life complete. She was an excellent cook and many will remember her for the delicious biscuits she enjoyed making and sharing.
She was a member of Koshkonong Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by: her husband, Carl of the family home in Koshkonong, Mo.; one daughter, Karen Heistand and husband, Ray of Austin, Texas; two sons, Terry Sims and wife, Denise of Fort Worth, Texas, and Rodney Sims and wife, Jennifer of Thayer; four grandchildren, Kimberly Sims, Ashley Painter and husband, Jared, Patrick Sims and Jeremy Todd; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Matthew and Hayden; one brother, Loyd Christian of Idabell, Okla.; two sisters, Phyllis Tracht of Pickens, Okla., and Sue Ann Adams of Pickens, Okla.; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Leonard Christian and Lavoy Christian.
Funeral services were held Oct. 4 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Clarence Burton officiating. Burial followed in the Koshkonong Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
