Born 8-16-1935 -- Died 2-9-2004

Don Estes Lawrence, 68, son of Eugene Alvis Lawrence and Verna Lee Finley Lawrence, was born aug. 16, 1935, in Battles, Ark. He died Feb. 9, 2004, at his home in Melbourne, Ark. During Don's working years, in addition to heavy equipment operation from 1976 to 1989, he owned and operated the American burger center. He as a farmer who raised hogs, cattle and horses. Don married Ann Fudge March 12, 1953, in Batesville, Ark. to this union three children were born. He was a Christian and was baptized in Piney Creek near Antioch.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Anne Lawrence of the home; a son and daughter-in-law -- Don Eugene and Davonda Lawrence of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law -- Julie and James Stinnett of Macon, Mo., and Stacy and Tony Gunderman of Batesville; a brother, Doyle F. Lawrence of Sidney; seven grandchildren -- Mandy Brokaw, Jeremy Lawrence, Jordan Lawrence, Morgan Weaver, William Weaver, Lauren Gunderman and Anthony Gunderman; and five great-great-grandchildren -- Shelby Brokaw, Hayley Brokaw, Hunter Brokaw, Madison Brokaw, and Trestin Lawrence.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral was Feb. 11 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Tate Lawrence Jr. officiating. Burial was at Melbourne Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne, Ark.

Pallbearers were Galen Hodge, Charlie Kimble, Kenny Moser, Jeremy Lawrence, Tate Lawrence III and Keith Harmon.

Honorary pallbearers were Harlin Hames, Bobby Dean Moser, Hearley Morehead, Newt Blankenship, Gary Bales, Gene Kimble and Terry Smith.
