Harold Norman "Cotton" Langston, of Salem, Ark., son of the late Owen John and Dessie Ima (Bishop) Langston was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Heart, Ark. He died Oct. 20, 2005, at Salem, Ark., at the age of 78 years and 25 days.

He was married to Veda Mae Pendergrass on Oct. 22, 1949, at Heart, Ark., and to this union a son was born.

He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and worked as a owner/operator of Langston Construction, Inc. He was a member of Salem First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Veda Langston of Salem; a son, Michael Langston and wife, Carolyn, of Strafford, Mo.; sisters, Lorene Weaver of Salem and Nancy Sepulvado of Mountain Home, Ark.; a grandson, Tad Langston and wife, Angi of Strafford, Mo.; great-grandson, Hunter Langston of Strafford, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald and Gene Langston.

The funeral service was held Oct. 22 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem. Burial followed in the Agnos Cemetery a Agnos, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.

Pallbearers were Terry A. Langston, Terry V. Langston, Chris Humphries, Tad Langston, Tracy Langston and Donald Humphries.

Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
