General and Municipal Elections will be held in Oregon County April 8.
The city of Thayer will have three alderman positions on the ballot. They are:
Second Ward: Steve Alford who is running unopposed for a two-year term.
First Ward: Incumbent Mike Harber and John Hutchison have filed. This position is also a two-year term.
Second Ward, one-year unexpired term: Alderman Junior Brewer resigned his alderman position last year due to health reasons and Al Clark was appointed to fill that position. Clark, Norman Trimble and Gary L. Clark have filed for this seat.
Mayor: Alton Mayor Richard Haigwood will run unopposed for the two-year term as mayor.
Alderman-At-Large: Three men have filed for the alderman-at-large position at Alton. They are incumbents Tom Young and William T. Young. Eric King has also filed for this two-year seat.
Mayor: Mayor Loyd "Bud" Adams will run unopposed for a two-year term as mayor.
Alderman-At-Large: Incumbent Alderman James "J.D." Stevens and Dale Harrison will both run unopposed for two-year alderman seats at Koshkonong.
The city of Koshkonong will also have a sales tax issue on the ballot asking voters to approve a one-cent sales tax with half designated for the street fund and half designated for capitol improvements.
School board elections will also be held April 8 in the county.
Five men have filed for three, three-year terms on the ballot. They are: Bill Meeker, Ray Dern, Marcus Reynolds, Don Bush Jr., and Tom Lewallen.
Four men have filed for three, three-year terms on the Couch School Board. They are: Dean Britt, Joe Garrison, Casey Roberts and Kimberly Martin.
Four people have filed for three, three-year positions on the Thayer School Board. They are: Betty Morris, William O. (Bill) Franz and Randal Ward.
