Artie Marie Estes, 87, of Viola, Ark., daughter of the late John Wesley and Nettie Lee (Thomas) Boothe, was born Oct. 28, 1920, at Ash Flat, Ark. She died March 12, 2008, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark.

She was united in marriage to Lowell Leslie "Jack" Estes on May 12, 1945, at Agnos, Ark. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Viola Baptist Church and the Fulton County Retired Teacher's Association.

She is survived by: four sons, Ron Estes (Rose) of Mammoth Spring, Ark., Jackie Estes (Brenda) of Viola, Jim Estes (Pam) of Mountain Home and Joe Estes (Laurie) of Mountain Home; three brothers, Loyd Boothe, Horace Boothe and Jimmie Booth; four sisters, Mary Sue Orr, Eula Lee Spurlock, Bonnie Goodson and Barbara Hatman; seven grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Zach, Dylan, Mark, Michael and Patty (Estes) Callaway; four stepgrandchildren, Keith Pitts, Michael Pitts, Chancey McGowan and Justin McGowan; 17 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; a brother, J.W. Boothe; and a sister, Lorine Boothe.

Funeral services were held March 15 at the Viola Baptist Church in Viola with Bro. John Hodges and Bro Steve Spurlin officiating. Interment was in the Agnos Cemetery at Agnos, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem.

Pallbearers were Michael Estes, Mark Estes, Jason Estes, Justin Estes, Kevin Shrable and Jay Callaway.

Honorary pallbearers were Vernon Crow, Dennis Harber, Charles Sherman, Connie Hutson, Coy Stone, Garry Williams, Zach Estes and Dylan Estes.

Memorials preferred to the Viola Baptist Church Sign Fund.
