Myrtice Davis Cooper was born the daughter of Clarence Edwin Davis and Lola Gray Davis on March 15, 1913, in Thayer, Mo., and died March 7, 2008, at Springfield, Mo., at the age of 94.
She was united in marriage Oct. 27, 1937, in Thayer, to Claude Wesley Cooper Jr. who preceded her in death on May 14, 1985.
She attended Drury College and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was an educator, teaching in the Thayer School District for several years.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the PEO. She was a member of Thayer Crescite Club and also served as secretary of the Missouri Medical Association?Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by: two sons, Dr. Claude Wesley Cooper Ill and wife, Diane, of Springfield, Mo.; and Edwin Davis Cooper and wife, Leslie, of West Memphis, Ark.; one grandson, Douglas Patrick Schumpert and wife, Melissa, of Ozark, Mo.; one granddaughter, Wesley Ann Cooper of Franklin, Ind.; one great-granddaughter; other relatives and many friends.
She as preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Dr. Claude Wesley Cooper Jr.; one sister, Dorothy Sue Walker; and one brother, ?Henry Davis.
Funeral services were held March 13 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Pastor David Scott officiating. Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
