Jack Clark Jr., was born April 27, 1926, in Houston, Mo., the son of Jack B. Clark and Sally Lou Henley Clark. He died March 15, 2008, in West ?Plains, Mo., at the age of 81.
He was united in marriage on April 1, 1950, at Mammoth Spring, Ark., to Betty Jo Merritt.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during World War II. He was a former member of the VFW Post 7831 in Mammoth Spring.
The Clarks owned and operated the Phillips 66 Station in Mammoth Spring for over 20 years.
He also worked in parts for both Freeman Ford and the Mammoth Spring Motor Company for several years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mammoth Spring.
He is survived by: his wife, Betty Clark of the home in Mammoth Spring; two sons, Mike Clark and wife, Patti of Thayer, Mo., and Rick Clark and wife, Tracy of Mammoth Spring; four grandchildren, Johnny Clark and wife Andrea of Mountain Home, David Clark of Mammoth Spring, M.J. Clark of Springfield, Mo., and Lacy Zook of Thayer; one son-in-law, Grant Misko of Thayer, Mo.; one sister, Dorothy Jean Carroll of Jackson, Tenn.; three nieces; one nephew; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; one daughter, Dana Kay Clark; and one brother-in-law, Jack Carroll.
Funeral services were held on March 17 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Pastor Paul Skinner officiating.
Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Mo., with arrangements being made under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
