Michael Dean Barnett, son of Opal Anne (Barnett) Dickens, was born Feb. 13, 1946, in Moko, Ark. He died Nov. 8, 2007, at the Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem, Ark., at the age of 61.
He was united in marriage to Susan Deanne Johnson Feb. 8, 1969, at Reno, Nev. He worked as a case worker for the Department of Human Services.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Barnett of Salem; a son, Bradley Russell Barnett and wife Shanna of Dora,?Mo.; a daughter, Deann Renee' Barnett of Salem; mother, Opal Anne Dickens of The Dalles, Ore.; a half-brother, James Monroe Dickens of The Dalles, Ore.; three half-sisters, Debra Jane Parker of The Dalles, Ore., Terrie Lee Anderson of Portland, Ore., and Tedra Jo Showalter of Dallesport, Wash.; four grandchildren, Brenda and Raichel Harris and Kaitlin and Jason Barnett; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jim Dickens and step-grandfather, Albert "papa" Dickens.
Memorial services were held Nov. 12 at Moko Church of Christ in Moko, with Lee Hendrix officating. Arrangements were under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Legacy Hospice in Salem,?Ark., or to the family.
