Fulton County will be adding several new positions to its workforce. The Fulton County Quorum Court held a special meeting April 8 and decided that the massive damage to the roads needs some extra muscle.
"The quorum court wanted us to hire some temporary help which will allow us to lease some extra equipment. In fact, we have six extra trucks coming to town soon and an extra backhoe. Also, some rollers to do compaction work, an excavator and these new employees will allow us to man this equipment and start rebuilding these roads," Willett said.
Currently there are six additional people who were hired after the March 17-18 damage occurred, but Willett said he would re-assess the needs of the county and revisit the quorum court soon. Even more positions could be made available to individuals.
The next Fulton County Quorum Court meeting will be held April 14 at 7 p.m. in the courtroom of the Fulton County Courthouse.
