Fred G. Peaslee, 85, of Horseshoe Bend, formerly of Elgin, Ill., died June 20, 2005, in Ash Flat. He was born Dec. 12, 1919, the son of Fred and Anna Russell Peaslee, in Elgin, Ill.
He married Joanne Stettner April 3, 1973, in Geneva, Ill. He was a retired plant engineer from Shakeproof Division Illinois Tool Works after 30 years of service. He served his country 3-1/2 years in the U.S. Army in the 3rd and 7th Armored Divisions in World War II. He was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Horseshoe Bend and a lifetime member of the VFW.
Survivors are his wife, Joanne, of Horseshoe Bend; two sons -- Fred L. of Rochester, Minn.,and Russell K. of Casper, Wyo.; one daughter, Evelyn, and husband, Al Franklin, of Buckman, Ill.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and four sisters.
