Ted Businger of Salem recently made a $3,500 donation to Legacy Hospice of North Arkansas. Businger, 87, has been receiving hospice services from legacy since March of this year. "Legacy came into my life at a time when I needed them the most because of my terminal illness," Businger said. "I do not know what I would do without the staff. They have been very kind and helpful. They send nurses and aids, social workers and chaplains to see me, plus they have volunteers who come to visit and I love to talk with them. I would be lost without Legacy."?
"I wanted to give them this money because I am delighted with what they have done for me and maybe they can use it to help others as they have me," he said.
Legacy Hospice is a for-profit organization and does not solicit donations. In the event a donation is made to Legacy the funds are used to purchase items for patients who have needs for such things as furniture, appliances or even bill paying assistance.
