Jack Douglas Heavner, 75, of Mitchell, Ark., son of the late John Henderson Heavner and Adeline Grace Stout Heavner was born Oct. 25, 1929, in Hughes, Ark. He died Sept. 28, 2005, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mounain Home, Ark.
He was married to Wilma Lou Morrison on Dec. 21, 1957, in Marion, Ark. To this union three children were born.
He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
He was employed by Northern Propane in Minneapolis, Minn., for many years as well as other propane companies.
He went into the ministry in 1978, and was pastor of the Mitchell Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma, of the home; his children, Andy Heavner of Greenwood, Ark., John Heavner and wife, Kim of Fayetteville, Ark., and Elizabeth Glatz and husband, Ron of Springfield, Mo.; his grandchildren, Allison Altes, Lindsay Heavner, Michael Heavner, John Heavner, and Lauren Heavner; great-grandchildren, Cole and Carolyn Altes and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Graveside services were held Sept. 30 at the Mitchell Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
