State will not decrease Couch's per pupil money

Thursday, February 17, 2005

COUCH SCHOOL -- Couch School Superintendent Rolla Fraley and Couch School Board President Ron Combs recently attended a Legislature Forum in Jefferson City.

They reported at the Feb. 8 Couch School Board meeting that the Jefferson City meeting basically dealt with plans to rewrite the state school funding formula.

Fraley told the board state money from the 2005-05 budget will not decrease per pupil. He said the total amount Couch School will receive will decrease due to a decline in the number of eligible students.

The school board was informed by High School Principal Tom Bull that the next A+ meeting at the school will be April 4.

The board voted to offer Shelly LeAnnis employment as a bus driver for the remainder of this school year.
