James R. Stanley, 70, of Pomona, Mo., died Sept. 13, 2005, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.
He was born April 19, 1935, in Calico Rock, Ark., the son of Earl and Joyce Jones Stanley. Before his retirement he was employed as a driver for Hiland Dairy.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Pomona.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary Mason Stanley of the family home; three children, Mary Ann Risla, husband, Jan, Eagle River, Alaska, Patricia Stoops, husband, Tim and Carla Trick, husband, Jerry of West Plains; six grandchildren, Danielle Stoops, Ethan Stoops, Charlie Trick, Loren Trick, Keara Risla and Karsten Risla; two brothers, Willie Stanley and Debbie and Victor Stanley, wife, Rosa, Calico Rock; five sisters, Ida Forbes, husband, Don, Loura Paterson, husband, Billie, Mountain Home, Ark., Virginia Duncan, husband, Raymond of Pomona, Shirley Stanley of Calico Rock, and Earletta Blankenship of Memphis, Tenn.
The funeral service was held Sept. 15 at First Assembly of God Church in Pomona with arrangements under the direciton of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial was in the Mackey Cemetery.
