Luke McDuffee, age 88, of Cave City died June 14, 2006, at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Bethesda, Ark., the son of the late William Joseph and Lenora (Manion) McDuffee.
He was a retired truck driver was a teamster for 28 years.
He was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II.
He was an ordained Southern Baptist deacon and served in several area churches and Little Rock. His special calling was visitation and personal soul winning.
He was a member of the Eastside Southern Baptist Church in Cave City.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Helen Jackson McDuffee of the home; one daughter, Jane Mills of Little Rock; one son, Bobby McDuffee of Benton; one brother, J.W. McDuffee of El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Willene Bray of Mount Pleasant and Lorene Wilson of Southside; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jerry McDuffee; three sisters, Ann Barton, Daphnia Brightwell and Charlene Mann.
The funeral services were held June 16 at the Eastside Southern Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Van Edwards, Bro. Jim Tirey, Bro. Gary Wallace and Bro. Frank Shell officiating.
Graveside services followed at Summer Cemetery at Cabot, with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Mickey Holland, Joey Holland, Joey Bray, Terry Mann, Andy Chase and James Albert Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers were Allen Thompson and the Men's Senior Sunday School Class at Eastside Southern Baptist Church.
