Courtney Elana Hill became the bride of Michael James Sprague in a double ring ceremony solemnized April 8 at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Hill of Highland-Hardy. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Blankenship of Blytheville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Hill of Blytheville.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Sprague of Jacksonville, Fla. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George Sprague of Pittsburgh, Pa., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lemmer of Pittsburgh.
The bride's brother-in-law, Pastor Bart Hodgson of Austin, was the officiating minister. Selected scriptures were read by the bride's father and the groom's father. Nuptial music was presented by Jan Koele, pianist, and Kate Krone, soloist, both of Austin.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. They were joined at the altar by all parents for a unity prayer.
The bride wore a formal wedding gown by Amsale Blue Label Couture in ivory duchess satin with a strapless trompe l'oeil brocade beaded bodice, a curved waistline in the front and a deep basque waist in the back. The skirt was A-line with a chapel length train. Her veil was an originally designed finger-tip length featuring hand-embroidered beading edging to match her wedding gown.
Kristen Hodgson of Austin was her sister's matron of honor. The bride's attendants were Lisa Culver of Highland-Hardy, sister of the bride, Dr. Michael Hill of Joplin, Mo., brother of the bride, Taryn Duncan of Highland-Hardy, sister of the bride, Jenny Phipps of Memphis, Tenn., Jennifer Krutz of Cleveland, Miss., Lori Cardosa of Washington, D.C., Shawna Peays of Austin and Jamie Lamb of Austin.
Flower girls were Hannah Hodgson and Carmen Hodgson of Austin, nieces of the bride.
The ring bearer was Isaac Hodgson of Austin, nephew of the bride.
Mark Sprague of Jacksonville, Fla., served his brother as best man. The groom's attendants were Marsha Garrison of Washington, N.J., sister of the groom, Michelle Sprague of Roxbury, N.J., sister of the groom, John Cardosa of Coeur-D'Alene, Idaho, Mark Barnish of Woolwich, N.J., Matt Gordley of Virginia Beach, Va., Jason Eastwood of Knoxville, Tenn., Cliff Davidson of Knoxville and Jeff Peterson of Austin.
Ushers were Taylor Duncan, Aaron Culver and Nathan Duncan, all of Highland-Hardy, nephews of the bride.
Nieces of the bride Natalie Culver and Kaitlyn Duncan of Highland-Hardy presented programs to the guests as they arrived.
Ceremony flowers were placed in memory of grandparents.
The reception and buffet dinner was held at the Austin Club. The bride and groom arrived in a 1937 Cadillac. In the foyer of the Austin Club was a display of wedding pictures of Hill and Sprague family members including vintage pictures highlighted by a picture of the bride.
The newlyweds left the reception in a horse-drawn carriage.
The bride graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Arkansas where she was president of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She received her juris doctor degree from the University of Colorado Law School.
The bridegroom received his bachelor of arts degree with honors from Messiah College in Harrisburg, Pa., graduating magna cum laude.
The bride is an attorney for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the groom is the human resource manager of a company in Austin.
The couple will live in Austin after a wedding trip to Athens, Greece, and a cruise to the Greek Islands, Croatia and Turkey.
