MYRTLE -- Four bids were accepted for services at Couch School when the Couch School Board met July 6.
Bids accepted were from Hiland Dairy for dairy products, Sara Lee Bakery for bakery goods, MFA for propane and Stateline Propane and Petroleum for diesel fuel.
The board set the date for the annual tax rate hearing at the school for Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m.
The school board voted to enter into a lease/purchase agreement with Alton Bank for a new school bus that is to be delivered before school starts.
Superintendent Tom Bull told the board that the gymnasium floor refinishing project at the school had been completed and the mats for the gym floor had been ordered and should be installed before school starts.
Nina Crase was hired as a junior high/high school social studies teacher for the upcoming school year.
The next regular scheduled meeting of the Couch School Board will be Aug. 10, immediately following the tax rate hearing in the school library.
