Johnnie Darrell Deatherage, son of the late Loyd and Effie Mae (Hutson) Deatherage, was born Jan. 18, 1938, in Mitchell, Ark.
He died July 8, 2006, at his home in Tecumseh, Mo., at the age of 68.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Sue Bales on Oct. 24, 1959.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was a farmer and of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Lynn Deatherage of Clinton, Mo., and Douglas Duane Detherage (Della) of Ladson, S.C.; a daughter, Linda Sue Carney (Eddie) of Kansas City, Mo.; special companion, Hope Berschauer of Tecumseh, Mo.; two brothers, Bob E. Deatherage of Osecola, Ark., and Dan L. Deatherage (Pamela) of Harrisburg, Ark.; grandchildren, Tara Lyn Martin, Robert E. Lawlis and Michael F. Lawlis; great-grandson, Richard Tyler Lawlis; a nephew, Eric Deatherage of Osceola; special cousin, Gearl Hutson of Caulfield, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
The funeral service was held July 12 at the Mitchell Assembly of God Church in Mitchell, Ark. with Pastor Gale Wooten officiating.
Burial followed in the Mitchell Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers included Gearl Hutson, Mike Lawlis, Russell Riley, Pete Mitchell, Gene Strong, John Hart and Ed Carney.
