Neal John Williams of Elizabeth, Ark., son of the late Samuel Williams and Louisa Taylor Williams, was born March 11, 1920, in Mitchell, Ark. He died Oct. 17, 2007, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Mo., at the age of 87.

He was united in marriage to Wilma Evelyn Holland in the early 1950s in Fulton County, Ark. To this union, three children were born. He later married Edith Blair.

He served his country in the ?United States Air Force during World War II. He was a carpenter and was employed by Peirless-Swindle in Kansas City for several years.

Survivors include: his children, Deborah Lou Workman and husband Jerry of Joliet, Ill.; Wade Neal Williams Spence and wife Sharon of Mexico, Mo., and Kelly Jean Besalke of Bella Vista; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cecil Sigler of Richland,?Mo., and Wilma Smith of Bexar, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: both wives; brothers and sisters, Hester, Hurl and Audra Williams, Alpha Holstine, Sally, Floyd Herbert and Kirby Williams, Alice Orr and Bill Williams; and his father and mother.

Funeral services were held Oct. 20. Burial followed in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
