Anton "Tony" Luebken, 90, of Cherokee Village died Feb. 23, 2006, at the Ash Flat Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Luebken was born Aug. 7, 1915 , in Hanover, Kan., the son of August and Ella Luebken. He was united in marriage to Maxine Chapman on June 2, 1937.
He retired from Swift Packing Company in Sioux City, Iowa, in 1978 and moved to Tucson, Ariz., and then moved to Cherokee Village in 1985.
He was a member of the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department in Jefferson, S.D.
He served as a board member of the Swift Credit Unit. Luebken was an avid bowler and golfer.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village.
Survivors include four children and their spouses, Phyllis and Roger Raebel of New Ulm, Minn., Harold and Darlene Luebken of Cherokee Village, Donald and Martha Luebken of Ash Flat, and Donna Baxter of Oak Grove, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine; 10 brothers and sisters; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral services were held Feb. 27 at Peace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Brian Pummill officiating. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery at Highland. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Peace Lutheran Debt Relief Fund.
