Joddie Ray Pendarvis died April 22, 2006, at his home in Mammoth Spring at the age of 81.
He was born Oct. 24, 1924, in Fulton County, Ark., the son of the late William Allen "Jinks" and Bessie Gladis Collins Pendarvis.
He was united in marriage Oct. 23, 1943, in Dell, Ark., to Trecie Eva Robinson. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was a farmer and a well-known carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Trecie Pendarvis of the home in Mammoth Spring; four children, Willis Pendarvis of Mammoth Spring, Carol Johnson and her husband, Don, of Koshkonong, Mo., Joey Pendarvis and wife, Dolores, of Mammoth Spring, and Kathryn Pendarvis of Mammoth Spring; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Velma Hatfield of Mammoth Spring, Ola Curtis of Mammoth Spring, Willie Kate Pendarvis of Mammoth Spring and Bernice Robinson of Eugene Oregon; several nieces and nephews and cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and sisters.
The funeral services were held April 25 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer. Burial followed in the Ed Collins Cemetery in the Flat Woods Community near Mammoth Spring, with Bro. Cecil Robinson officiating.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Johnson, Jody Pendarvis, Larry Rich, Brad Washam, Alan Bassham, and Larry Pendarvis.
Honorary pallbearers were Doil Adams, David Curtis, Randal Curtis, Kenneth Davis, W.D. Curtis, Troy Coats and Keith Moore.
