The Salem Lady Greyhounds wrapped up their fourth straight 2AA-North softball championship in style with a 10-0 shutout of the Melbourne Lady Bearkatz April 18 at Melbourne.
The victory over the Lady Katz gave Salem (15-5) a perfect conference mark of 12-0.
Leslie Taylor picked up the win over Melbourne, striking out 12 while giving up just two hits.
Carrie Johnson had a three-for-four afternoon at the plate with two RBIs for the Lady Hounds, while Chelsea Taylor added two hits and pair of ribbies. Leslie Taylor helped her own cause with two hits, including a triple.
The Lady Hounds had little trouble with Norfork April 17, as Salem topped the Lady Panthers 15-0 in game one of a doubleheader, and finished things with a 17-0 shellacking in the nightcap.
Salem blistered the ball for 12 hits in game one and 13 hits in game two.
Chelsea Taylor pitched both shutout wins for Salem. She also went five-for-five at the dish for the Lady Hounds.
Leslie Taylor, Brett Hall and Johnson each turned in a four-for-six performance on the day for Salem.
